Wyclef Jean Net Worth 2019

Wyclef Jean Net Worth: Wyclef Jean is a Haitian-American rapper, singer-songwriter, musician, record producer and politician who has a net worth of $10 million dollars. Wyclef Jean is most widely known as a former member of The Fugees (The Refugee Camp), and as very successful solo artist. Wyclef Jeanelle Jean was born on October 17, 1969, in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti. He moved to the United States with his family at the age of nine. Wyclef initially rose to fame in the early 90s as a member of The Fugees. The Fugees were catapulted into the limelight in 1993 with the release of their debut album, Blunted On Reality. The group, whose name was inspired by the plight of refugees from Haiti, also featured Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel. Their greatest success was the 1996 album, The Score, which sold over 6 million copies and earned the group two Grammy Awards for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Rap Album.

Wyclef soon split with his Fugees bandmates to create solo albums. In 1997, Wyclef released his first solo album, The Carnival, which eventually went multi-platinum. His second album, The Ecleftic: 2 Sides II a Book, was released three years later and included guests like Youssou N’Dour; Earth, Wind & Fire, Kenny Rogers, The Rock and Mary J. Blige. Wyclef released several other albums including Masquerade, The Preacher’s Son and From the Hut, to the Projects, to the Mansion. In addition to his successful music career, Jean filed for candidacy in the 2010 Haitian presidential election on August 5, 2010. Unfortunately, the Electoral Commission subsequently ruled him ineligible to stand as he had not met the requirement to have been resident in Haiti for five years. Through his charitable organization Yéle Haiti, Wyclef has been actively involved in a variety of charitable works in Haiti.

Wyclef Jean Rumored Financial Problems:
Over the years, Wyclef has faced a number of financial challenges. In mid-2012, the IRS and state tax authorities filed a $2.9 million claim against the singer for unpaid taxes. Wyclef has also been sued by a handful of creditors who claimed he never paid for services rendered. These services include $133,000 to a New York law firm called Shukat Arrow Hafer Weber & Herbsman. The law firm sued Wyclef and was awarded a $100,000 judgment. When no payments where made, the law firm emailed Wyclef’s business manager/accountant and threatened to file formal judgement for the full amount. Wyclef’s accountant responded to the email by saying “File it. In my most professional verbiage… there ain’t no money.” This response clearly implies that Wyclef has no money and may be broke.
